Fateful Stray Escape

Three feet of heavy iron,

shackled at the bone A pointer and a tabby,

trying to get home You pull to the left,

and I am dragged along This three-legged race is going completely wrong! (grrrrr)

Red lights are flashing down on County Road Nine (bark!) Animal control

is crossing the county line!

If we don't move together,

we're going to the pound So pick up your paws,

let's get off the ground!

We are chained at the collar,

street! We don't have to like it,

but we gotta agree It takes two of us to run and

be free! (yeah!)

You climb up the trellis,

I'll dig through the clay (shhh!) Duck behind the tractor,

hide under the hay Your wet nose is freezing,

your claws are too sharp But we dodged the patrol in the

local theme park! (phew!)

One state line left to cross tonight (hisssss) Sirens in the distance,

shining so bright

Jump on three, ready or not We're leaping the fence,

it's the only shot!
