I left that bar without a warning,

Left my glass there halfway gone,

Climbed aboard that bus at midnight,

By daylight we were moving on.

Watched the Texas lights behind me Disappear beneath the wheels,

Sometimes leaving's all that's left

When staying hurts too real.

Then my phone lit up beside me,

And his name was on the screen,

But there's only so long a woman Can wonder what she means.

So I turned that ringer down,

Let the highway carry me...

All the way to Tennessee,

That phone kept lighting up for me,

Every hundred miles or so,

Another thing he needed me to know.
