Same light.
Same corner.
Same gas station that's been here forever.
Different guy driving past it. (remember?)
Unfortunately, yeah. There's the corner where I ran outta gas,
There's the place I swore that job wouldn't last.
There's the road I drove with twenty bucks,
Thinking twenty-five would somehow fix my luck.
Same faded sign, same parking lot,
Different dreams than the ones I got.
Funny how a road can stay right there while every version of
you disappears. (you were here...) I know.
(right here...) Different year.
SAME ROAD, DIFFERENT ME!
Same old town through a different windshield I see.
Every red light got a memory,
Every mile got somebody I used to be.
Road didn't move, buildings barely changed— SAME ROAD,
DIFFERENT NAME IN MY
BRAIN! (same road... different me...)
There's the street where I thought I was in love,
There's the bar where I probably drank enough.
There's the turn where the old car died,
There's a thousand conversations still stuck inside.
Passed my old place—window looks the same,
Somebody else's light inside the frame.
For half a second my brain says "home," Then the light turns
green—and I keep going.
Memory keeps cutting in like— "I remember when—" Yeah,
yeah. I remember too.
(come back...) No. (just for a minute...) I can visit.
I'm not moving in.
SAME ROAD, DIFFERENT ME!
Every old version riding invisibly.
One wanted money, one wanted love,
One just wanted somewhere different enough.
Now I'm passing every place they used to be— SAME DAMN ROAD,
DIFFERENT ME!
Maybe that's why old roads feel strange.
You're not remembering places.
You're remembering
who you were
when those places mattered.
(we were here...) Yeah.
And you got me here.
SAME ROAD, DIFFERENT ME!
Same streetlights shining on a different dream!
I don't wanna go back— I just like knowing how many versions
of me drove this road without knowing
WHERE THE HELL WE WERE GOING!
(KEEP GOING!) (KEEP GOING!) (KEEP GOING!)
Light's green.
(remember?) Always. But keep driving.
