The music's getting softer
The room is holding still
Someone's giving an invitation Asking if there's one more heart to yield
I hear the words I've heard a hundred times "Come just as
you are"
And tonight I finally wonder
If that invitation's meant for my heart
I've spent so long believing I had to make myself okay
Before I could come before You
Before I could say Your name But You never asked me to
be worthy
You never asked me to pretend
You only left the door wide open
And called me to come in
This is the invitation of grace
Come with your questions Come with your shame Come with the tears
you couldn't explain
Come with the faith that's barely awake You don't have to fix
yourself
You don't have to know what to say There's room at the
altar
For you just as you are today
This is the invitation of grace Not a reward you have to
earn
Not a promise that you'll never hurt Just the open arms of
Jesus who says "Come home to Me again" Maybe I don't walk
the aisle Maybe I just close my eyes Maybe my surrender looks
like Finally admitting I'm tired
Maybe the prayer I've been afraid to pray Is simply,
"Jesus, help"
Maybe grace was never asking For more than bringing You myself I've
heard that I should have more faith I've wondered if I'm doing
enough
But You have never measured mercy
By how strong I think I am
If you can't lift your hands Come anyway
If you can't find the words Come anyway If you're angry,
if you're hurting
If you're tired of being strong If you don't know what believing
means Just come
Come with your questions Come with your pain
Come with the pieces You can't rearrange
Come with your trembling
Come with your doubt
Grace isn't waiting For you to figure it out This is the
invitation of grace Come with your questions Come with
your shame Come with the tears you couldn't explain Come with the
faith that's barely awake
You don't have to fix yourself You don't have to know what
to say There's room at the altar
For you just as you are today And if tomorrow finds you
broken
There's an invitation still
The altar isn't only for the moment Grace will meet you where
you will This is the invitation of grace The door is open
The price is paid
You don't have to earn your way Into the arms that called
your name So I came without an answer
I came without a plan
I came with empty hands (empty hands) And grace said,
"That's enough."
