Had a plan.
Had a backup plan.
Had a backup
for the backup plan.
None of those happened.
(hahaha) Worked out great.
PLAN A WENT DOWN IN FLAMES!
PLAN B DIDN'T KNOW MY NAME!
Took the wrong damn road,
AND ARRIVED ANYWAY!
Lost what I wanted,
Found what I needed,
Funny how failure looks different
AFTER YOU BEAT IT!
I was chasing one door,
Found a whole damn hallway!
Thought my life went wrong—
PLAN B WAS BETTER ANYWAY!
I had every little step written down just right,
Where I'd be next year,
where I'd sleep that night.
Then life took the paper,
set the whole thing alight,
Said, 'Cute little plan— Now improvise.' Job didn't happen,
opportunity did. One door slammed,
another one slid. People disappeared that I thought I'd grow with,
Then I met better people I never would've met.
That's the strange little joke nobody explains: Sometimes losing direction is how
direction gets changed. You can curse that detour while you're stuck in
the rain— Then five years later say,
'THANK GOD I CAME.'
Perfect.
Life. Didn't have one.
Kept moving.
PLAN A WENT DOWN IN FLAMES!
PLAN B DIDN'T KNOW MY NAME!
Took the wrong damn road,
AND ARRIVED ANYWAY! Missed that train,
Caught another someday—
Thought I lost everything,
PLAN B WAS
BETTER ANYWAY!
I've had maps lie,
clocks run late, Perfect opportunities disappear at the gate.
Had 'this is the one' turn into 'big mistake,' Then the mistake
put something better on my plate.
So I quit treating change like the end of the road,
Quit thinking one future was the future I'm owed.
Some bridges collapse 'cause they're done being crossed,
And sometimes getting found Starts with getting lost.
I still make plans—I ain't throwing them away,
I just stopped thinking life has to fucking obey.
If tomorrow kicks every little piece out of place,
I'll pick 'em back up And build something great.
Or...
PLAN A WENT DOWN IN
FLAMES! THANK GOD IT DIDN'T STAY THE SAME!
Took the wrong damn road,
AND I FOUND MY WAY!
Lost what I wanted,
Found something greater—
Sometimes your worst day IS YOUR BEST DAY LATER!
Wrong turn, closed door,
Delay after delay— I thought my whole life broke— PLAN B WAS
BETTER ANYWAY!
Ask me when Plan B explodes.
