Rising From Broken Dreams
Yeah… This is my life.
This is my story.
I had to grow up way too young,
Childhood disappeared before it had begun.
My older sister raised me and my baby sister,
When life got hard,
she was always there with us.
We never said thank you,
never showed enough, But looking back now,
she gave us so much love.
Then she moved away,
and we were left behind,
Me and my baby sister trying to survive.
I became her protector,
put her before me,
Carried all the weight nobody else could see.
I was just a kid,
but I acted grown,
Making sure my baby sister wasn't alone.
This is my life,
this is my story,
I came from the pain,
now I'm chasing my glory.
They called me a problem,
said I wouldn't make it,
But I'm building a future they can't take away.
My past is my past,
it won't define me,
I'm becoming the person I was meant to be.

I started losing my way,
Made bad choices just to get through the days.
Then we got taken,
everything changed, Grandma called my father,
and I got sent away.
I tried to stay with my baby sister,
didn't wanna leave, But at fifteen,
there wasn't much I could do.
Living with my father,
I felt out of place,
Every argument somehow felt like my mistake.
Two years passed, then I finally chose me,
Packed up my life and left to breathe.
Now I'm with my aunt,
and I'm doing better,
Better grades, better friends,
life feels lighter. I'm learning to heal,
I'm learning to grow,
Building the life I never got to know.
Can't change the past or the things that went wrong,
But I can turn my pain into something strong.
To my sister, thank you for all that you did,
You were there for me
when I was just a kid.
And my baby sister,
no matter where life takes us,
You'll always have a place in my heart.
