Trouble walked in. I pulled up a chair.
Asked if I was nervous— I said,
‘About what?’ (ooh)
I LOOK BETTER IN TROUBLE!
Pressure hits, I make it look subtle!
Whole room shaking, everybody seeing double—
I straighten my jacket like,
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE.
Trouble walked in—
I PULLED UP A CHAIR!
Chaos everywhere—
I fixed my hair.
If the whole damn ceiling comes down in here,
I'll probably look better WITH THE SMOKE IN THE
AIR!
I've seen good days turn sideways quick,
One phone call make a whole plan flip.
Everybody running like the world's gonna split,
I'm standing there thinking,
‘Well… this is interesting.’ I don't chase trouble,
don't invite that guest,
But trouble knows my number and my home address.
Every time it shows up trying to make me a mess,
I somehow get calmer when everybody gets stressed.
Maybe pressure taught me how to breathe real slow,
Maybe losing taught me what I don't control.
When the lights go red and they scream ‘DON'T GO!’ That's usually
when I find out What I already know.
“PANIC!” “No.” “RUN!” “Where?” “DO SOMETHING!” “I am.” “WHAT?”
(hahaha) Looking incredible.
I LOOK BETTER IN TROUBLE!
Heat gets high, I make it look subtle!
World goes sideways, I don't even stumble— Put me under pressure,
WATCH THE PRESSURE CRUMBLE!
Trouble walked in—
I PULLED UP A CHAIR!
Said, ‘You know this could get ugly in here.’ I said,
‘Maybe for you—
I'm doing great.’ Then I asked trouble,
‘YOU WANT SOMETHING TO EAT?’
I've had doors slam shut with my hand on the knob,
Had money disappear, had plans get robbed.
Had days where surviving felt like a full-time job,
Still showed up clean like,
‘Who wants what?’ Not fearless—I know what fear can do,
It tells good lies and makes bad shit look true.
So when my heart starts racing,
I give it something to prove: ‘You can shake all you want,
But we're still gonna move.’ That's strength—not pretending nothing goes wrong,
It's finding your feet when the floor is gone.
Anybody looks tough when the weather stays calm— I wanna know who
you are WHEN THE SIRENS COME ON.
“TROUBLE'S BACK!” “Tell it I'm busy.” “IT BROUGHT FRIENDS!” “More chairs.” “YOU'RE
NOT WORRIED?”
…Should I change jackets?
I LOOK BETTER IN TROUBLE!
Pressure hits, I turn that shit to muscle!
Whole world pushing, I push back double— YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR STRENGTH
TILL YOU MEET SOME TROUBLE!
Trouble walked in— I PULLED UP A CHAIR!
Fear came behind it— I LEFT IT OUT THERE!
I don't need easy,
I just need air— Whatever comes next,
I'LL MEET IT RIGHT HERE!
“HERE! HERE!”
“TROUBLE AGAIN?” RAPPER: Good.
I was getting bored.
