There's a little voice
saying, ‘Maybe don't.’
There's another saying,
‘Probably won't.’
Then somebody asks if I'm coming along— I look at good judgment
and say,
‘What could go wrong?’
BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES! If I knew better,
I'd have nothing worth telling!
Some nights crash, some mornings hurt,
Some brilliant ideas end face-first in the dirt!
BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES! (TELL IT AGAIN!) I wouldn't recommend half the shit that
I've done— But damn,
looking back, WE HAD SOME FUN!
I've said ‘one more’ when I knew it meant four,
Took the wrong exit just to see something more.
Walked through places I should've ignored,
Met some damn good people
behind the wrong door.
Sent that text I should've left alone,
Got halfway there before checking my phone.
Said ‘trust me’ with absolutely no plan— Somehow those nights made me
who I am. I'm not saying stupid is something to chase,
Some mistakes leave scars you don't wanna replace.
But life's got a funny little sense of taste— Sometimes wrong turns
take you to the right place.
“GOOD IDEA?” “No.” “SAFE IDEA?”
“Definitely not.”
“DO IT AGAIN?”
“…Depends.”
BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES!
If I knew better,
I'd have nothing worth telling!
Wrong damn road with the right damn crew,
Half our best memories started with ‘Dude…’ BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES! (HERE WE GO!) Some lessons hurt,
some lessons are funny— And some cost considerably more money!
I've learned when to jump,
learned when to stay,
Learned ‘it'll be fine’ ain't a guarantee phrase.
Learned every shortcut ain't saving your day,
And confidence sometimes needs Uber to pay.
But I wouldn't erase every ridiculous night,
Every stupid little wrong that eventually went right.
Every ‘never again’ underneath morning light— Those stories remind me I actually
lived life. Now I'm older,
maybe smarter—jury's still out,
Got a little more wisdom,
little less doubt. I know consequences like to come hang around— But
occasionally trouble knows the best part of town.
“LEARN YOUR LESSON?” “Absolutely.” “GONNA BEHAVE?”
“Probably.” “PROBABLY?”
“Don't push it.”
BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES! If I knew better,
I'd have nothing worth telling!
I got scars, got laughs,
got names I forgot,
Got memories worth more than whatever they cost!
BAD DECISIONS!
GREAT STORIES! (TELL IT AGAIN!)
I learned from the bad ones,
kept all the glory— CAN'T CHANGE THE DECISION,
SO TELL A GREAT STORY!
“You're probably right.”
“…Let's go anyway.”
