Look around you. Not everyone cheering wants to see you win.
Most people just want to know your business.
Keep the curtain closed.
Listen.
The same people textin' you "congrats" on the post Are the same
ones talkin' down when you need them the most They ask about
your budget, they ask about your crew
Not because they care,
but to see what they can do To copy your formula or
block your next play So I stopped giving answers,
turned and walked away I learned the hard way when I left
the door wide They’ll steal your whole harvest then tell you they
tried The world is a marketplace of jealousy and greed You don't
need an audience to plant a heavy seed.
Don't lay your blueprints on everybody's desk Some people smile but they’re
waiting for the mess Lock up the vision,
don't you make a sound
Let the heavy weight of your success shake the ground
Yeah, don't tell your dreams to everyone around They’ll dig a grave
before it's out the ground
Let the bass hit low,
let the truth be found Move in shadows...
then shake the ground.
When you’re broke and down,
they love to give advice But when you start moving,
they start acting like ice They can't stand the fact that you
figured out the maze Without begging for their help or seeking out
their praise So I stay off the grid,
no location on the map
Avoiding the handshakes that turn into a trap Let 'em think I’m
regular, let 'em think I’m flat While I’m buying up the building
where the council sat True power isn't loud,
it doesn't need a flash It’s the silent execution and the back-end
cash.
They want the gossip.
Give 'em nothing but silence.
Let 'em find out when the invoice clears.
Shh...
