The windmill stood on Miller's Hill,
a hundred years or more,
But the blades had stopped their spinning,
and the creaking was no more,
The paint was peeling,
the wood was cracked,
the town had let it go,
Until old man Jenkins said today we're gonna make it glow.
We all came together,
we all worked as one,
To bring the old windmill back to the sun,
With hammers and paint and a whole lot of love,
We pushed it up to the sky above,
And when the wind caught the blades and they started to turn,
The whole town cheered and we felt the burn,
Of happiness, of pride,
of dreams come true,
We made something beautiful,
me and you. (yeah!)
The children brought the buckets,
the ladies brought the food,
The men climbed up the ladders,
they were in a happy mood,
They fixed the gears and greased the joints,
they painted it so white,
And when the first blade caught the wind,
the town was filled with light.
Old man Jenkins stood and cried,
he remembered when he was a boy,
He'd watch the windmill turn and turn,
and it filled his heart with joy,
He said thank you,
thank you all, for bringing back this day,
Our little town has shown the world the only way.
We all came together,
we all worked as one,
To bring the old windmill back to the sun,
And now it stands so tall and proud,
spinning for the happy crowd,
And every time the wind blows through,
we'll remember what we can do,
When we all believe,
when we all care,
we can fix the broken,
we can repair.
The windmill spins, the town is bright,
everything is gonna be alright,
Miller's Hill, Miller's Hill,
spinning with the wind,
will always be a symbol of the love within.
