  • Torchlight Jubilee

    Torchlight Jubilee

    Rustic

Beneath the velvet summer sky on July the Fourth,

Two hundred fifty candles light the nation’s torch.

From quiet fields to city streets,

    the people gather

near, To celebrate the birth of hope in fireworks’ grand premiere.

    Recall the Revolutionary War,

when bold hearts took a stand— Farmers,

blacksmiths, dreamers with muskets in their hands.

Against redcoats marching proud on Lexington’s green field,

They fired the shot heard ’round the world,

    refusing to yield.

    Valley Forge’s frozen trials,

Yorktown’s final fight, The Declaration’s thunder on that hot Philadelphia night.

Thirteen colonies rising, defying crown and chain,

    Forging freedom’s banner through blood,

    through fire, through pain.

Now the rockets rise like rebel dreams from ’76 anew,

Climbing high on trails of gold,

piercing midnight blue. They burst in silver fountains,

    in scarlet, white, and gold,

    A thunderous celebration

    each boom an echo of

    the old.

Dazzling chrysanthemums bloom and fade into the night,

Painting stars across the dark in pure,

    triumphant light.

Children laugh in wonder as the embers drift like snow,

Families linked in awe beneath the spectacle’s warm glow.

Two hundred fifty summers blaze in this explosive cheer,

A Semiquincentennial symphony for all to hear.

May every flash remind us of the price that freedom cost,

And every glowing ember keep our future brightly crossed.

Happy 250th, America let the fireworks fly!

Long may your colors sparkle underneath the endless sky.

Happy 250th, America let the fireworks fly!

Long may your colors sparkle underneath the endless sky.
