Paper Moon

I found a little moon

inside my room

painted on the wall

in shades of blue

I know it's only paper I know it's not the sky but

somehow

it still keeps me alive

All the things we make

to feel less alone

little worlds

we carry home

Paper moon

shining through my window

not real but I believe Paper moon

floating in the silence a small light

for you and me

We leave our shadows

on a glowing screen

collecting moments

that we've never seen

Maybe we're all searching for a place to stay

inside a picture that will

fade away

If tomorrow disappears

keep this little light here

don't fall

away tonight stay a little longer
