Hymns for You

Sunday morning, sunlight through the window,

I’m walking in, trying to take it slow.

I tell myself, “I’m here for You,” But then I see you,

and I forget what to do.

You’re sitting there with a smile so bright,

And somehow everything feels right.

I try to sing,

but my heart gets loud,

I’m looking for you in the middle of the crowd.

Maybe it’s nothing, maybe it’s a sign,

Maybe someday you’ll be standing next to mine.

Every Sunday, I look for you,

Like the morning sky looks for the blue.

I don’t know where this feeling goes,

But every time you smile,

my whole heart knows.

I came to church to find my way,

But somehow I found you along the way.

And if someday you feel it too,

Maybe every Sunday could start with you.

After the service, I want to say hello,

But the words disappear when you get close.

I say, “How are you?” and try to play it cool,

While my heart is breaking every rule.

Maybe I’ll tell you,

maybe I won’t, Maybe I’m brave,

maybe I don’t.

But until I find the courage to say,

I’ll keep looking for you every Sunday.

Maybe it’s nothing, maybe it’s a sign,

Maybe God is writing something in His time.

And I won’t rush what’s meant to be,

I’ll let tomorrow come naturally.

But if your heart is wondering too,

I hope it’s been thinking of me and you.

Every Sunday, I look for you,

And somehow the world feels a little new.

With a

simple smile and a little mystery.

I came to church to find my way,

And now you’re the reason I look forward to the day.
