Riverbone Lament

As I crossed the river

the moon shined bright

I was running

and wasn’t looking all the way for the fight

not just yet at least

that is till ran upon him

and his healed for a way

to the next town

that maybe where he granted us

free to roam

so we helped him gladly

as we all fell asleep

I woke up with scream and hollering and hearing they all sinned

I ran to the spot where there devil was dismembering all my

men were killed at I screamed not terror but putting up a

fight

they burned at sunrise henceforth the light of day

and my little girl was gone

I was filled with dismay

I found her in the river

hollering teas

three nights before I

grew fond of her fast

nos I lost her

forevermore

as I remember the lives

I’ve lived thereafter

the little bright me love

forever after

when I was born this time

I heard that little girl

and was bigger now

and I called her mommy

that

was my will I prayed fit her night and day

all that time and didn’t realize until in the lifetime

that when she was finally gond

she was that little the devil took away

that god my father gave back to me as my mommy

not along time ago neither it happened just that day

I pray to god one day

I’ll see all my men

well be one big family once

again so let rain

wind blow

so heavily down

one day again I’ll read that crown

and people see from far away too
