Yeah,
look at 'em
Up
in the high country
Living large
High alpine peaks where the granite is cold There lives a chunky
rodent and he's brave and he's bold Not your city park climber
digging holes in the lawn He's a whistle-pig giant sleeping all through
the dawn Two thousand meters up where the timberline breaks He's eating
every single wildflower it takes Scurrying over boulders with a heavy-weight stride
Got a thick woolly coat and some alpine pride (uh-huh)
That's a thick, thick marmot on the mountain side
(living large!) Got that heavy-set waddle and he's ten feet wide
Yellow-bellied stunner with a loud high squeak He's the undisputed king of
the rocky peak Yeah,
he's the heavy-weight master of the stone-cold wild
(rocky peak!)
Eight months of winter means he's gotta pack it on No time
for skipping breakfast when the summer is gone Chomping on the sedge,
chewing roots in the sun He's a twelve-pound unit and he's second
to none If a hawk flies low,
hear that sharp alarm ring He's a whistle-pig warrior,
he's the mountain king Then he ducks in his burrow beneath the
ancient rock shale Leaving nothing but the wind and a twitch of
his tail
That's a thick, thick marmot on the mountain side
(living large!) Got that heavy-set waddle and he's ten feet wide
Yellow-bellied stunner with a loud high squeak He's the undisputed king of
the rocky peak Yeah,
he's the heavy-weight master of the stone-cold wild
(rocky peak!)
Yeah,
salute the heavy-weight class of the high country (marmot style) Staying chubby,
staying warm
Just whistle at 'em
