Beyond the Username

(hmmmmm) Behind every username,

there's somebody there, Someone with a story,

someone who cares. A heart behind the screen,

a life you can't see,

A person just hoping for some kindness to be.

Some people give love to somebody they don't know,

Leave a little sunshine wherever they go.

A message that says,

“Hey, you've got this,

my friend,” Never knowing where that kindness might end.

But sometimes you reach out with nothing but love,

And somehow it's still not enough.

You get blocked, you get hated,

Your kindness gets debated,

But don't let the darkness change who you are.

We're more than just a number,

More than a like or a view.

More than the followers beside our name,

There's a real heart beating through.

So if somebody blocks you,

Or leaves hate in the comments below,

Don't let their words take your kindness away,

Don't let the world change the person you know.

We're more than just a number,

We're somebody worth knowing.

We're more than just a number,

And our hearts keep on showing.

You never know what somebody's going through,

The smile on their face might be hiding the truth.

They could be fighting battles they're afraid to explain,

Trying to find a little sunshine through the rain.

So if you can brighten somebody's day,
