Sunrise List

(one, two, three, four!)

I wrote a little list on a yellow page

Simple little dreams for a simple age

First we watched a sunrise from a grassy hill

And danced in the summer rain until we got a chill

I learned to play one song on this old guitar (hummmm)

We drove down the highway,

didn't have to go far

These are the things I want to see before I get old

Better than any treasure,

brighter than gold To live every moment,

to laugh and to grow We're checking off the list

as we go! (ooh-ooh-ooh)

We found a tiny town where the streets were quiet and sweet

With a friendly roadside diner for a midday treat

Ordered cherry pie and we ate it with a grin

Then we ran down to the lake

and we jumped right in

We made a perfect stranger burst out in a laugh (hahaha)

Yeah, we're writing down our own beautiful path

No, it doesn't take fortune,

and it doesn't take fame Just some good friends beside you singing

your name We are alive right now!

These are the things I want to see before I get old
