Under That Tree

You walked into my life so unexpectedly,

And somehow you became my favorite part of every day.

I love the way you laugh,

the way you look at me,

And how being right beside you

is where I wanna be.

I thank God for every moment that He gave me,

Every little memory, every place we've been.

But there's one place

that means the most to me,

The shade of that old tree

where it all began.

I love our Bible studies under the tree,

Just you and me,

talking about what we believe.

Reading those pages, laughing in between,

Not knowing how special that moment would be.

'Cause under that tree,

you got closer to me,

And our first kiss became a memory I'll always keep.

If I could go back

and live it again,

I'd choose that moment,

and I'd choose you again.

I remember sitting there with you by my side,

Trying to play it cool,

but I couldn't hide

The way my heart was beating when you looked my way,

Like somehow that moment could make everything okay.

You make the ordinary

feel like something more,

Like every little moment is worth holding onto.

And when I think about what I'm thankful for,

Somehow I always end up thinking of you.

Maybe years from now we'll look back and smile,

At two kids underneath that tree for a while.

We'll remember the prayers and the words that we read,

And the first little moment

that you meant so much to me.

I love our Bible studies under the tree,

And every time I see it,

You're a blessing

I never wanna lose,

And if I had forever,

I'd spend it with you.

Under that tree, where our story began,
