Yeah… Long before the storm,
before the waves got wild,
God called out to Jonah,
but Jonah turned and smiled.
“Go to Nineveh, warn them,
tell them to repent.”
But Jonah had another plan—
He ran from where he was sent.
God said, “Jonah, rise,
go to Nineveh town,
Tell those wicked people My judgment’s coming down.
Give them one last warning,
let them turn from their ways.” But Jonah said,
“No,” and he ran the other way.
Down to Joppa, looking for a ship,
Paid for his passage,
took a little trip.
Heading toward Tarshish, thinking he could hide,
But you can’t outrun God when He’s calling from the sky.
Jonah hit the deck like,
“I’m finally free,” While the captain had no clue what was about
to be. Dark clouds rolled in,
thunder cracked the night,
And the sea went crazy like it wanted to fight.
🌊 YOU CAN
RUN, BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE!
When God calls your name,
you can’t outride! Jonah ran deep,
but the storm came fast,
Thought he could escape— But the past caught back.
SWALLOWED BY THE DEEP!
Down where the darkness creeps!
Three days, three nights,
no way out, Jonah learned what obedience is all about!
Waves crashing over, sailors terrified,
Everybody screaming, throwing cargo aside.
Captain yelled, “Wake up!
Man, what are you doing?
Pray to your God—the whole ship’s ruined!” They cast lots—Jonah’s name came
out, Now everybody turned to him,
“What’s this about?”
Jonah said, “I’m running from the God above,
The God who made the heavens,
the sea, and the dust.” Sailors said,
“What do we gotta do?” Jonah answered,
“Throw me in—the storm will stop for you.” They tried to fight
the waves, but the sea wouldn’t cease,
So they lifted Jonah up— And tossed him into the deep.
Suddenly… Silence.
The thunder stopped. The waves laid down.
The storm disappeared.
But Jonah? Jonah was sinking.
Down… Down… Down…
Then from the darkness came a creature of the deep,
A great fish rose up from beneath the sea.
Jonah had nowhere to run,
nowhere to flee,
And the jaws opened wide—
SWALLOW!
Into the belly of the beast,
Jonah disappeared beneath the waves.
Three days and three nights in the darkness,
Trapped in a prison that he made.
No sunlight. No shoreline.
No way to escape.
Just Jonah… And God.
Jonah cried out from the belly of the deep,
“God, I was wrong,
I was running from Your feet.
You threw me down into the depths of the sea,
But even in the darkness,
You’re still watching me.” 🌊 YOU CAN RUN,
BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE!
When God calls your name,
you can’t outride! Jonah ran deep,
but the storm came fast,
Thought he could escape— But the past caught back.
SWALLOWED BY THE DEEP!
Down where the darkness creeps!
Three days, three nights,
no way out, Jonah learned what obedience is all about!
Then God spoke to the creature of the sea,
And the great fish moved where God told it to be.
It carried Jonah toward the shore,
Then opened up its mouth— And Jonah hit the floor!
(coughing) Spit out on the land,
covered in slime, But alive by the mercy of God that time.
Then God spoke again: “Jonah,
arise. Go to Nineveh.” And this time Jonah didn’t run.
He went.
