The fire is gone…

The smoke has cleared… But I can still remember

Everything I lost.

I walked through the ruins of yesterday,

Carried the ghosts that refused to fade.

Every scar was a chapter written in stone,

Every battle proved

I wasn’t alone. I chased the darkness until I learned,

Some flames are meant to burn.

The person I was had to disappear… For the one standing here.

I won’t forget where I came from.

I won’t erase what I’ve been through.

But I won’t let the past decide

I will rise beyond the ashes,

Beyond the memories that haunt me.

Beyond the shadows of the past,

Beyond the person I used to be.

The world may never be the same,

The scars may always remain… But I found a reason to believe,
