I used to hide beneath the weather,
Waiting for the clouds to leave.
Never noticed little gardens
Growing underneath my feet.
Every tear became a river,
Every river found the sea.
All the things I thought were endings Were becoming parts of me.
I don't need a perfect sky,
I don't need the rain to stop.
Even storms can leave behind Something beautiful enough.
I learned to bloom in blue,
Where the broken colors grew.
Found a little piece of light Hidden in the darkest hue.
I don't need to run away,
I don't need another view.
Every shade I carried with me Helped me bloom in blue.
There are flowers on the sidewalks,
There are stars behind the gray.
There are moments we stop seeing
When we're looking far away.
I was searching for a doorway,
But I was already inside.
All the walls I thought surrounded me Were only changing sides.
I can feel the seasons turning,
I can hear the silence sing.
Everything I lost was teaching
How to grow another wing.
Maybe beauty isn't golden,
Maybe it was never bright.
Maybe every quiet color
Has a reason for its life.
I was waiting for the rainbow,
Never seeing all the rain.
Now I know the falling water Helped create the flowers' names.
I learned to bloom in blue,
With every scar and every truth.
All the pieces I abandoned Were the roots that carried through.
Now the sky is opening,
And I finally see it too.
I was never meant to lose myself— I was meant to bloom
in blue.
A little more light...
A little more room...
A little more life...
Still learning to bloom.
