(ahhhh) Clay in the palm,
we are carved of the earth
Breath in the lungs,
a brief wind at our birth
Time is a phantom,
a construct of glass
We live in the present,
while shadows still pass
For change is the river that carries our fear
Yet change is the constant that brings us all near We burn
in the fire, we dissolve in the rain
In the
ever-present, we bypass the pain (yeah)
The wind takes our ashes,
the earth keeps our bones
A blueprint of dust on these temporal thrones
We struggle to hold
what was never our own
A piece in the puzzle,
beautifully sown
We fear the transition,
the shift in the breeze
But water must flow to find peace in the seas (flow now,
flow now)
Letting you down gently
into the dark
We were a flash,
a magnificent spark (hmmm)
How sweet is the sting that reminds us we live
To break is the ultimate beauty we give If joy is the
bloom then the sorrow's the root And tears are the water
that sweetens the fruit
We thank the design for the dark and the day
Without the deep shadow,
the gold turns to gray
We burn in the fire,
we dissolve in the rain
In the ever-present, we welcome the pain
Carved of the earth (ahhhh)
We return to the clay
