{upright piano swing introduction} (hmm-mm,
yeah) {subtle bass and brushed
snare}
Well, everybody’s heard of old Saint Nick,
Flying ‘round the world and doing his trick.
But there’s another fella you oughta know,
Short as a stump but ready to go!
Dalton Clause with a big black beard,
Red clothes on looking kinda weird.
Big red hat pulled down real low,
Laughing all the way through the snow.
He’s got a paper box full of ice cream treats,
Trying real hard before they all melt in the heat.
He waves his hand with a goofy grin,
“Hope y’all saved me a cookie again!” Merry freakin’ Christmas!
Y’mean… Merry Christmas! Dalton Clause is knocking at your door.
“Sherserkies!” he
hollers
with a laugh so loud,
While wrapping paper’s flying all around.
He’s bringing toys and frozen treats,
Boots crunching through the snowy streets.
If you’ve been good,
he’ll stop on by… If you’ve been bad…
well… he’ll probably still give it a try!
He waits till the very last minute of the night,
Heading over to Henry’s house just before daylight.
Stacking up toys by the old front door,
Then tiptoes off across the floor.
Now he’s wondering where to head next,
Checking his crumpled-up Christmas text.
“Think those kids were good this year?” “Eh… close enough… let’s spread
some cheer!”
His little sled squeaks,
his boots don’t fit,
Half the presents are missing a bit.
The ice cream’s melting,
the ribbons ain’t straight,
But Dalton says, “Shoot… they’ll still think it’s great!”
Merry freakin’ Christmas! Y’mean… Merry Christmas!
Dalton Clause is making his rounds.
Big black beard and a floppy red hat,
Leaving laughter all
over town.
He ain’t perfect, but he sure does care,
Passing out joy everywhere.
For every good little girl and boy…
And maybe a rascal or two… ’Cause Dalton Clause says,
“Everybody deserves a little Christmas joy!”
“Sherserkies… y’mean Merry Christmas!”
Now somebody put that ice cream in the freezer
before it turns into eggnog!
(hahaha, yeah) {piano trill and drum
roll finish}
