Yeah, sub-compact packed to the ceiling.
Four people, one highway.
Destination: Digby.
Dad's at the wheel,
spilled coffee on his knee Mom's mapping out every lighthouse we see
Sis is in the back playing games on her phone While my
stomach is making a terrible moan
We're cruising up the shore,
Nova Scotia beauty But our mission today is culinary duty
We are headed down to Digby,
gotta feed the crew
(feed the crew!) Pan-fried scallops in a garlic butter brew
And the Digby parfait,
sweet cherry on top Four hungry travelers and we're not gonna stop
Two hundred kilometers of maritime highway Sis says 'are we there yet?',
Dad says 'do it my way' Fog rolling in but the GPS
is clear The scent of salty water is getting so near
Give me those mollusks,
golden and sweet
No other shellfish can compete (yummmm) First comes the seafood,
fresh from the bay Then comes the dessert to finish the day
Layers of custard, cream,
and cake
The greatest choice we could ever make (oh yeah) We are headed
down to Digby, gotta feed the crew (feed the crew!) Pan-fried scallops
in a garlic butter brew
And
the
Digby parfait, sweet cherry on top Four hungry travelers and we're not
gonna stop Finally parked,
smell the salt in the air.
Fork in my hand,
wind in my hair.
Scallops are served. Pass the parfait.
Nova Scotia, we did it.
