(whistling) Way out in the Mojave,
past the old dynamic line Lived a self-proclaimed surgeon with a real
bad design He was looking at a patient who was fading mighty
fast And he swore he had a method that would make the
recovery last
His name was Deadline Ellis,
with a mind so bright and small
He said a jolting countdown would revive them one and all So
he slipped a heavy pressure plate right underneath the head To jumpstart
the poor fella, but he triggered it instead (oh no)
Oh, Deadline Ellis, what a terrible mistake That wasn't a defibrillator,
what a choice to make
He set a ticking timer on a high explosive load And the
patient and the clinic and the town just went explode (idiot)
He thought a little urgency would make the spirit rise But he
didn't count the blast radius under desert skies He wired up the
detonator
right beneath the spine And sighed a breath of satisfaction,
thinking it was fine
Tick-tock goes the recovery plan
Built by the hand of an ignorant man
One heavy step
and the trigger went click (hahaha) He realized his error just a
little too quick Oh,
Deadline Ellis, what a terrible mistake That wasn't a defibrillator,
what a choice to make
He set a ticking timer on a high explosive load And the
patient and the clinic and the town just went explode (what an
idiot)
Now we're sitting in the clouds as the dust begins to clear
Ellis is beside us with a ringing in his ear Yeah,
he killed us all (yes he did)
