Something took my hand

The glass gave way

The room went black

Before I found my breath

It pulled me back (ahhhh)

Cold closed over both my eyes The ceiling vanished with the light

My feet left everything I knew And something dragged my body through

I tried to scream,

the water spoke It filled my mouth with broken notes The harder

that I fought the grip The farther from the world I slipped

No air No ground No way to tell

If I was sinking Or if the whole world fell

It pulled me past the last light Down where the dark has

no end

I couldn’t tell which way was rising

I couldn’t tell foe from friend

I reached for anything above me But there was nowhere left to

run

The pressure tightened around my chest My heartbeat stumbled out of step

A thousand whispers crossed the tide All wearing pieces of my voice

The hallway twisted through the deep Doors floated open underneath Behind each

one, I saw a face I almost knew,

then watched it change

I twisted inside its hold Felt the fingers around my bones Then

my pulse moved through its palm And answered from inside its arm

Same scars Same skin Same trembling underneath The hand pulling me into

the dark Belonged to another me

Pull me down Pull me through Take me somewhere I can’t refuse

No more air No more light Only the hand Holding mine

It pulled me past the last light Down where the buried things

breathe I thought that something came to take me But it had

been waiting for me

It pulled me past the last light Until the darkness became clear

The hand I fought through all that water Was the hand that

brought me here Past the last light
