Begin with Me

I didn’t come with empty words,

Or just another prayer to say.

I’m not here to count my needs,

Or simply walk away.

I’m standing here with open hands,

Nothing hidden, nothing free.

Lord, before You change my world,

Would You first begin with me?

Search my heart, reveal what’s true.

Take what’s not like You.

Change me, shape me,

Mold me by Your hand.

Break the pride that keeps me From becoming who I am.

If there’s anything between us,

Wash it in Your mercy.

Don’t just hear these words I pray— Lord,

let this prayer change me.

Teach me how to love like You,

To forgive and to obey.

Let Your Spirit lead my steps In every choice I make.

When I kneel before Your throne,

Don’t let me leave the same.

Write Your will upon my heart,

And glorify Your name.

Take my thoughts.

Take my plans.

Take my future in Your hands.

Every fear, every dream,

Make them all surrender to the King.

Less of me and more of You,

That’s the only thing I choose.

Change me, shape me,

Until Your love is seen.

Make my life a living sacrifice,

Holy, pure, and clean.

When I rise up from this altar,

Let the old me fade away.

I don’t just want to say a prayer— I want to leave

here changed. (change me...) Lord…
