Where’d you go? There you are Eyes in the dark Smile like

a scar Grin still floating

Purple fog curled by the crooked tree

Two gold eyes looking right through me

Cat said, “Lost?” with a velvet tease Then disappeared from the paws

to the teeth I said,

which way, can you show me fast?

He said, depends where you want to land I said,

anywhere, just not the past He laughed so hard that the moon

unclasped Tail went left,

head went right Smile hung still in the black-blue light I should

be scared but the beat felt nice So I stepped to the

dark with my chin up high Every road bends

Every friend here

Has borrowed eyes If I don’t know Where I’m going Then any

way works If I keep moving Grin still floating in the midnight

air Cat gone missing but the smile stays there Wrong way,
