Tide of Resonance

(hummmm) rain

on the iron sheet

cold tide pulling back from my feet

i left the window open wide

to catch the smell of damp concrete

but all i found was salt inside

and empty space along the street

you said we had a place to hide

before the summer turned to stone now

the

water is rising to my knees and i am swallowing the silt

just tell me that you felt the freeze of every single wall

we built

i never meant to let it drown

but the mud was pulling

us both

down

no words left to save

just the quiet of the wave
