What have we become...
Walking past the sleepless streets,
People hiding pain behind their eyes.
Children dreaming with an empty plate,
While the rich decide another fate.
Screens are glowing, hearts are cold,
Truth is bought and justice sold.
We build walls instead of bridges now,
Tell me when we forgot somehow.
Everybody's looking for a savior,
But nobody wants to change their behavior.
We keep running in the same old race,
Losing sight of the human face.
What have we become?
Tell me what have we done?
The world is crying out tonight,
But we keep turning from the light.
What have we become?
Can we still overcome?
Before the last tear falls like rain,
Can we learn to love again?
Wars are burning across the land,
Started by a powerful hand.
Mothers praying through the night,
Hoping their children survive the fight.
Nature's calling, can you hear?
The oceans rise year after year.
Yet we argue, divide,
and blame, While the future goes up in flames.
Everybody's talking about freedom,
But too many never get to see one.
A better world is in our hands,
If we finally choose to stand.
Maybe hope is still alive,
Maybe kindness can survive.
One heart, one voice,
one helping hand,
Could change the story of this land.
What have we become?
Tell me what have we done?
The world is crying out tonight,
But together we can find the light.
What have we become?
We are more than what we've done.
If love can rise above the pain,
Then humanity can live again.
Live again... Live again...
Humanity
can live again...
