You Are My Answered Prayer

You are my answered prayer Twenty three years ago I was eager

I was longing to be a mother God was and is always

a gracious provider

You came when I thought I was ready

Only to realize I was not even steady

That stage of my life was very shaky

And I wasn’t the mother I knew I had to be

The first handful of years with you I had to learn

To have the gift of you I had to earn

I didn’t and still do not know how

All the things I need to do and avow

You have become a man right before my eyes

I can’t pretend or disguise

How in awe I am of who you are

As you are finding your north star

I pray your path is meaningful

May you keep being faithful

And live your life in gratitude

With humility in your attitude

I am here when you need me

I see who you can be

I especially love you as you are

Whether we are near or far

You are my greatest treasure

My love for you I cannot measure

You are my answered prayer Now,
