Yeah…
Nobody knows what goes on at home.
Everybody thinks I'm good…
If only they knew.
Smile in the hallway,
tears when I leave,
Got a whole lot of pain
that nobody sees. They say,
“That's your mom,” like that makes it okay,
But they don't hear the things that she says every day.
Walking on eggshells,
don't know what's next,
Living with the fear and the weight on my chest.
They see the outside,
think everything's fine,
But I'm fighting battles that I hide behind my eyes.
Behind closed doors, nobody hears me,
Screaming inside, wish somebody could see.
Why does the place
that's supposed to feel safe
Leave me with these feelings I can't explain?
I'm more than the words that you throw at me,
More than the person you tell me to be.
One day my voice won't be buried in pain,
I'll find my peace,
I'll see brighter
days.
Words cut deep, and the fear stays around,
Trying to stand tall when I'm breaking down.
I never deserved it,
I needed some care,
Needed someone to listen,
someone to be there.
You can't call it love if I'm scared all the time,
Can't erase the hurt by pretending I'm fine.
I'm still growing,
still learning my worth,
And I deserve kindness,
deserve to feel
heard.
Maybe someday I'll look back and see,
That what happened to me doesn't define me.
I deserve a home where I'm safe and free.
Yeah… This is my voice.
This is my story.
