You cannot know the light...
Until you've walked through the dark.
A fish knows the ocean,
But never knows the sea.
A tree knows the forest,
But never sees the trees.
And a soul surrounded by sunlight...
May never understand
what light means.
I spent my years beneath the shadows,
Where broken dreams and cold winds blow.
I searched for heaven in the darkness,
Through every place I feared to go.
The stars were hiding from the morning,
The moon was bleeding silver tears.
But every step I took through midnight,
Made me stronger through the years.
You cannot see what you've always known,
Until you stand there all alone.
Sometimes the night must take your hand,
To show you what the light has planned.
The dark taught me the meaning of light,
The cold taught me the warmth of fire.
I had to lose my way through midnight,
To understand what I desire.
You cannot know the morning sun,
If you've never faced the night.
I walked through hell to understand,
The sacred language of the light.
A fish that swims in endless water,
Will never know the ocean's grace.
A tree that grows within the forest,
Will never see the woods it makes.
The ones who live in endless sunshine,
May never know the dawn is born.
For how can anyone feel morning,
Without the memory of the storm?
I have been lost,
I've been forgotten, I've worn the chains of my own mind.
I've kissed the lips of desperation,
And left a thousand ghosts behind.
But every shadow had a message,
Every wound became a sign.
The night was never there to break me,
It was teaching me to shine.
The dark taught me the meaning of light,
The cold taught me the warmth of fire.
I had to lose my way through midnight,
To understand what I desire.
You cannot know the morning sun,
If you've never faced the night.
I walked through hell to understand,
The sacred language of the light.
Perhaps darkness is not the enemy...
Perhaps it is the distance
Between what we are
And what we have yet to understand.
The moon needs night to reveal its face.
The stars need darkness to become visible.
And sometimes...
The soul must lose the light
To finally recognize it.
Now I can see the light in the darkness,
Now I can feel the fire in the rain.
I wouldn't trade the road behind me,
For a life without the pain.
I am Amir Hossein,
hear me calling, Nadan,
rising from the night.
I have walked where shadows gather,
Now I know the worth of light.
A fish cannot explain the ocean...
A tree cannot describe the forest...
And a man who never knew the darkness...
May never understand the light.
My name is Amir Hossein.
I have known the night.
And now... I know the light.
