I was running down a highway
With a weight I couldn’t name
Every mile behind me
Looked a lot like shame
Then I heard an old,
old story
In a small-town church one night
Love came looking for a sinner And it turned my darkness light
They said, “Son, you don’t have to earn it You don’t have
to pay the price”
I fell down at that altar
When I saw the sacrifice
For God so loved this broken world
He gave His one and only Son
So whoever calls on Jesus
Will never be undone
I was lost, but now I’m found
I was bound, but now I’m free
Forever written in my heart
John 3:16
I’ve seen hard times on the prairie
I’ve seen storms tear through the plains
I’ve watched good men lose their way
And carry silent pain
But there’s a name above the thunder
There’s a hope that won’t let go
When the world says you’re too far gone His mercy says,
“Come home”
No chain is too strong to break
No past too stained to clean
When the King of all creation
Steps into the in-between
For God so loved this broken world
He gave His one and only Son
So whoever calls on Jesus
Will never be undone
I was lost, but now I’m found
I was bound, but now I’m free
Forever written in my heart
John 3:16
Let the church bells ring out louder!
Let the redeemed lift up a sound!
Every valley,
every prison
Let the name of Jesus resound!
He didn’t come to condemn us—
He came to make us whole!
There is power in the blood
There is healing for the soul!
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh! The grave could not hold Him!
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh! The cross still speaks today!
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh! Lift your hands,
ye weary— There’s a better way!
For God so loved this broken world
He gave His one and only Son
So whoever calls on Jesus
Will never be undone!
I was lost, but now I’m found
I was bound, but now I’m free
Shout it from the mountaintop:
John 3:16!
Forever written in my heart…
