Boxes by the doorway,
shoes all in a row Mom says,
can you help us,
buddy, nice and slow
I carried my teddy and one little sock A spoon and a
pillow and Dad's funny clock
I wobbled a little,
I marched with a grin They said,
you're a big help,
so I puffed up my chin Then I grabbed the lamp with
the polka-dot shade And a chair with one squeak that the old
dog made
Look at me go,
I can carry it all
A box, then a bike,
then a couch down the hall I'm helping my family,
happy as can be If it needs a ride,
you can give it to me
Next came the toaster,
the rug, and the fan A stack of
cookbooks almost taller than I am
I huffed and I shuffled the table outside Then hoisted the mattress
with big goofy pride The neighbors all blinked when I tightened my
shoes I picked up the mailbox and old barbecue Mom laughed,
Dad stared, and the dog barked,
wow I think
I am extra super strong now Look at me go,
I can carry it all A truck,
then the porch, then the big backyard wall I'm helping my family,
happy as can be Now the whole house is bouncing along with
me We set the house down with a giggle and cheer Home
is where we move together,
year by year
