God knows my life,
before Him are
Each thought, each act,
for ‘ere, for aye;
He knows each path,
before, ‘tis took,
Each motive bare
before Him lays.
God knows my life,
the morn, the eve;
The burdens borne,
the by-gone years;
By wise design
each sorrow wrought,
That often drenched my eyes with tears.
God knows my life and none but Him,
Doth daily take,
the record make;
With His Right Hand
upholds, casts down,
God never maketh a mistake.
(never
maketh a mistake)
God knows my life,
the deep, the dark;
The silent grief,
the path unknown;
His constant grace
surrounds my soul,
To prove I never walk alone.
God knows my life,
though storms may rise,
His perfect peace
will still abide; Through every trial,
sharp and long,
My steps are guided at His side.
