Mind Chase
(hummmm) Walls
are bending inwards
again
Every step I take
echoes in my skull
Corridors of panic,
nothing here is null
Clock ticks backward, counting down my breath
Running from the shapes
lingering beneath
Caught inside the loop,
nowhere left to break
Can't tell what is sleeping,
what is wide awake
Footsteps right behind me on the tile
They've been tracking me across the mile (they're closing in)
Demons chasing me through the thought trap!
Sprinting down a maze that never folds back!
Clawing at the glass,
screaming in my head (screaming in my head) Caught inside the cycle
till the circuits go dead!
Mirror shows a face I barely recognize
Paranoia flickering behind my eyes
Turn another corner,
hit another floor
Thought I found a latch,
it's just another door They whisper all the things I tried to
bury deep No rest in the waking,
no rescue in sleep
