Above the sky…
Beyond the clouds…
They call it Heaven…
Where the good ones go.
I climbed above the clouds
Where the world was far below
A thousand lights were shining
In a place I’d never known
I saw the kind,
the faithful
The ones who gave their all
They opened up their arms
Whenever someone called
They told me they were angels
They told me they were pure
But every heart had something It was still learning to endure
ABOVE THE SKY Where the good ones go
ABOVE THE SKY Where the white lights glow
They call us GOOD PEOPLE
They call us what we’ve done
But underneath the halo
We’re still someone
I saw a man who saved a life But couldn’t save his
own
A woman gave her everything
And still felt all alone
Some carried guilt behind their smiles
Some wished they’d done much more
Some made a thousand mistakes Before they found this door
They told me they were angels
But angels never fall
Yet every soul remembered The times they lost it all
If every good deed earns a place If every heart deserves a
name Does being good mean never breaking?
Or finding strength to rise
again?
GOOD PEOPLE
That’s what they call us
GOOD PEOPLE
But we were human first
ABOVE THE SKY
I hear them breathe
ABOVE THE SKY
They’re more than what they give They call us GOOD PEOPLE
They call us what we’ve done But underneath the halo
We’re still someone
Above the sky…
There are no angels…
There are only people…
Just like us.
