Everyone grieves on their own timeline,
But nobody tells you how to survive.
It’s 3 AM, I couldn’t stop crying,
Kept telling myself, “Oh yeah,
I’m fine.” But I’m still in shock,
still confused, My head keeps pounding,
what am I supposed to do?
Trying to make sense of what I just heard,
But my heart can’t process a single word.
It’s 4 AM, I’m forcing my eyes closed,
But my mind won’t let me rest.
These rushing thoughts keep running circles,
And I’m drowning in my head.
Was the news I’m processing real,
Or was it some kind of mistake?
I keep hoping I’ll wake up
And find out this was all fake.
Don’t tell me it’ll be okay,
You don’t know what I’m feeling today.
You’re not inside my heart,
You don’t know where to start.
I don’t need another cliché,
I just need somebody to stay.
I’m not ready, I’m not prepared,
And grief shows up and tells me who’s really there.
When the tears fall down and I can’t find my way,
Who’s gonna hold me when there’s nothing left to say?
Everybody says, “Give it some time,” Like time can erase what’s breaking
inside. They tell me that healing comes eventually,
But right now grief is all I can see.
Some days I’m strong,
some days I’m not,
Some memories hurt more than I thought.
I smile for the world,
then fall apart alone,
Trying to understand a loss I’ve never known.
Maybe someday I’ll breathe without breaking,
Maybe someday I’ll smile without faking.
Maybe the memories won’t hurt this way,
Maybe I’ll learn how to live with the pain.
But tonight,
don’t ask me to be strong,
Don’t tell me I’ll move on.
Just sit beside me in the silence,
Let me feel what I feel for once.
Don’t tell me it’ll be okay,
Just stay with me through the darkest day.
I’m still trying to understand How everything changed when I heard those
words again.
I’m not ready, I’m not prepared,
But grief has a way of
showing who really cares.
When the tears fall down and I can’t find my way,
I need someone beside me
who won’t try to take the pain away.
Everyone grieves on their own timeline… So don’t rush mine.
It’s 3 AM… And I’m still trying to tell myself I’m fine.
But maybe being broken tonight
Doesn’t mean I’ll be broken for life.
