Shellbound Requiem

Reincarnate wish I asked for another turn Reincarnate wish and every door

burned I woke as a beetle with a bright hard back little

legs writing circles in the dirt track My old name faded under

the yard every small footstep landed sharp and hard Then I was

a fish in a bowl by a sink round and round with

too much time to think I kept asking fate for a kinder

door but the wish came true and twisted more Reincarnate wish

beetle, fish

Dolphin too make me stone (ah) turn

the wheel (la la) turn again Then I was a dolphin with

a silver arc laughing over waves till the water turned dark Plastic

in the current, engines in the seam freedom looked smaller than the

dream So I begged for stillness,

no hunger, no race no borrowed body,

no borrowed face If there is mercy in the next unknown let

me lie quiet, let me be stone At first it was silence

cold rain, warm noon Roots held the hillside owls sang at the

moon

Years passed like weather I did not

need to run

Reincarnate wish, what a reckless kiss beetle to a fish and I

still missed bliss

Dolphin in the blue,

then a field of stone

Funny how the earth can feel like home

Children sat beside me in the afternoon

moss became my jacket under autumn moon

I thought peace was empty,

now I know it's grown After all those lives,

I was finally home
