Finally Mom’s Gift
(soft
sigh)
Eight long years of waiting on a prayer
Looking at an empty rocking chair
Then your daddy took my trembling hand Gave me a promise and
a golden band And brought you home
to complete our home
Now your two
big brothers run the yard
Laughing in the sun and playing hard
Having the time of their young lives Watching our little family thrive
With you
asleep upon my chest
Shawn, you made my whole world bright
From the moment you opened your eyes to the light
My baby boy, you were worth the wait
Every tear, every twist of fate And mommy
will always protect you
(always protect you)
Little hands wrapped around my thumb
Thanking heaven
for where you've come from
No shadow can fall across your way
I will stand guard by night and day
Forever safe
inside these arms
Shawn, you made my whole world bright
From the moment you opened your eyes to the light
My baby boy, you were worth the wait
Every tear, every twist of fate And mommy
will always protect you
(yeah, I
will protect you)
Shawn, my precious baby boy
Our sweet miracle,
our greatest joy
Mommy's right here
