The midnight wind had barely stirred,
When suddenly the silence blurred.
A pulse of white,
a flash of blue,
The ancient station woke anew.
The EMP rolled across the ground,
It killed the lights without a sound.
Ryujin fell as systems died,
While Solas reached into
the void inside.
He opened space and called his steel,
And sealed the armor round his shield.
Then through the dark he saw the glow,
A deadly light began to show.
Radiation filled the air,
A burning haze was everywhere.
Ryujin weakened where he stood,
And fought the best he ever could.
The creature came to claim its prize,
With hungry jaws and burning eyes.
Its claws were raised to end the fight,
When Solas crashed into the night.
He struck the beast and drove it wide,
Then stood before his friend beside.
The creature turned, the forest shook,
And on the hunter's form it took.
The hunter came, the hunter came,
Through smoke and fire,
through fear and flame.
The claws struck hard,
the jaws struck fast,
And neither knew which breath was last. (hooo-ahhh)
Her claws tore through the armor's frame,
Her jaws came down like forge-born flame.
The solar blade could do no more,
Its fire could not pierce her core.
So Solas raised his mind-pike high,
And faced the beast beneath the sky.
He struck her deep,
she struck him twice,
And every blow came at a price.
His armor cracked, his vision dimmed,
The strength within his body thinned.
He knew the dawn might not be seen,
Yet still he stood beneath the green.
He fought not knowing he could win,
He fought because his friend was in.
And though the end
seemed drawing near, He met the beast without a fear.
But wounded now, she slowed her pace,
And saw the ruin on his face.
Her strength was spent,
her hide was torn,
And so she vanished with the morn.
No fang was taken,
none was won, The greatest hunt had come undone.
Two hunters limped beneath the light,
Alive to tell the clan that night.
The hunter came, the hunter came,
And left the forest scarred with flame.
Two hunters walked where few would dare,
And faced a beast beyond compare.
No trophy claimed, no victory won,
Yet still their tale is carried on.
For deep beneath the Bounty green,
The greatest beast they've ever seen...
Still hunts unseen. (unseen...)
