About Embercoat

I write songs about people and places from other worlds. Some follow a single life; others cover centuries. There are tragedies, comedies, and people making decisions that seemed perfectly reasonable at the time. I release the music as Embercoat. The sound varies because the people and stories do. A character’s personality can shape the music; the history of a place can work its way into the instruments and rhythms. Choosing how a song sounds is like exploring more of a story, and through that we can discover how we really feel about it. These worlds extend beyond the songs, but you don’t need to study up before listening. I’d like the music to give you a reason to care about whoever you’ve just met.
