BROKEN SORROW Alternative Rock / Post-Grunge Broken Sorrow makes music for the people who survived the things they were certain would destroy them. Built around heavy guitars, massive melodic choruses, raw vocals, and brutally personal songwriting, Broken Sorrow blends alternative rock and post-grunge with a darker modern edge. Their songs live in the space between destruction and recovery, confronting addiction, regret, broken relationships, survivor’s guilt, mental warfare, love, and the stubborn decision to keep going. The band consists of Jason Downz on lead vocals, Justin Therapy on guitar, piano, and songwriting, Brennan Low on bass, and Heath Under on drums. Rather than hiding behind fictional characters, Broken Sorrow turns real experiences into songs. Tracks such as “I Shouldn’t Be Here,” “If Love Had a Voice,” “Velvet Lies,” “I Am (Silence in Your Veins),” “House of Echoes,” and “Still Breathing Anyway” move between some of the darkest moments of a life and the people, choices, and second chances that make survival possible. That same philosophy shapes the band’s live show. A Broken Sorrow set is designed as more than a sequence of songs. It unfolds in chapters, moving through damage, addiction and internal conflict before turning toward love, recovery, survival, and ultimately hope. Musically, Broken Sorrow draws from the emotional weight of post-grunge, the punch of modern hard rock, and the atmosphere of contemporary alternative music. Crushing riffs can collapse into vulnerable passages before exploding into arena-sized choruses. The result is music that can be heavy without sacrificing melody and emotional without becoming polished beyond recognition. At the center of it all is one idea: Survival isn’t always beautiful. Sometimes surviving is simply waking up tomorrow and deciding you’re still here. Broken Sorrow writes the soundtrack for that decision. BROKEN SORROW Still Breathing Anyway.
